irix/virtio's package workflow installs and then removes vioser and p9fs in the shared guest to test them. The runner's markers still said installed, so the next boot had no p9fs and no share, and provisioning could not fetch anything. auto now probes the share and falls back on put (scratch volume), a marker counts only while versions still lists the product, and irix-provision mounts the share before the agent and ssh steps so they use it.
